NIZLOPI TO PLAY AT CNSP!

We are very pleased to announce that the wonderful Nizlopi will be playing at CNSP this year as part of a very limited, 4-venue reunion tour!

Nizlopi are a two-piece made up of Luke Concannon (guitar and vocals) and John Parker (double bass and beat box) and best known for their platinum-selling, number one hit JCB Song.

They’ve mastered their own sound with a mixture of celtic folk, jazz and hip hop and love to get the audience involved in the action. Their masterful double bass playing, breath-taking human beatboxing , heartfelt lyrics and soulful vocals are perfectly complimented with the pair’s sunny, easy-going attitude and it’s hard to leave without a smile on your face

Their previous success has seen appearances on Top of The Pops (where they were the only ones not to mime!) and a dedication to live touring that saw on endless run of shows from living rooms to sold out gigs at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. They’ve supported Jamie Cullum on tour and collaborated with artists ranging from Billy Bragg, Jimmy Davis and Benjamin Zephaniah. They even accepted a surreal invitation to play two sold out nights at Wembley Arena with Christina Aguilera.

Since deciding to go their separate ways in February 2010 John Parker has continued to collaborate with other artists and tour as a double bass player while singer Luke Concannon has hitched to Palestine, writing music and playing with local musicians along the way. He’s also been a regular feature as a solo artist at Croissant Neuf Summer Party and never fails to wow us with an incredible voice and energy that fills our solar-powered Big Top.

CNSP Launch Party!

Theres only one way to get the Croissant Neuf Summer Party started…and that’s with another party!

To get everyone in the mood we’ll be throwing a launch party on FRIDAY 24th MAY at the Attic Bar, Stoke’s Croft, Bristol.

True to form we’ll be turning sunshine into music by rigging the Solar System up and running the entire night on solar power!

Music and entertainment will be provided by an array of talent who will also wow us at the Summer Party in August. Bristol-based THE ZEN HUSSIES are headlining- renowned for their ”high
energy marathon sets, gregarious showmanship, deft musicianship and good humour
alike” partygoers will be in for a treat!

Visual treats will be sprinkled through the evening with cabaret and circus acts while a DJ set from Cats in the Basement present: CATS IN THE ATTIC will keep feet stamping until the early hours.

With Vegfest on at Bristol Harbourside by day, this is the perfect weekend to make a trip to Bristol!

It’s been tricky keeping it under our hats but we can now chuck the headgear in the air and start shouting about the amazing talent that will be blasting out of our solar-powered stages this summer!

We pride ourselves on getting in a deliciously eclectic mix of musical maestros so there is something for everyone to get in foot-stamping mood to- and this year is no different! There will also be plenty to discover- the beauty of CNSP is the ease you can get from one stage to another so there’s plenty of time to open your ears to new and wonderful music.

Croissant Neuf In the Big Smoke…

Although we’re not going to be making big smoke, in fact we’ll be talking about how to avoid it!

Our very own site manager (and CNSP co-founder) Mr Rob Scully is speaking as part of the Green Events and Innovations programme at the International Live Music Conference in London tomorrow.

The panel is made up of festival representatives from all over the country who will be discussing how events can reduce their carbon footprint and re-think where the power comes from.

Rob is well placed to put forward the argument that festivals CAN be entirely run on renewable power, Croissant Neuf Summer Party is living proof it works!

You may have seen Rob (see mugshot) beavering away at CNSP 2012 and he has a wealth of experience running festivals and events up and down the country. He has helped CNSP reached recycling rates of 95% and run the entire site on just 15kW- all things that helped CNSP win the A Greener Festival Award for 3 years out of the 4 it has been running.

Tickets are now on sale for CNSP 2013!

It may be a grey, dreary day but you can start daydreaming about the summer with a ticket to Croissant Neuf Summer Party 2013! Tickets are now on sale, including our brand new Teen Ticket option, perfect for 13 – 16 year olds to save a few pennies at the greenest festival in the UK.

Camping will open at 2pm on Thursday 11th August so you can come and join the party a day early and make a real holiday of it! The new pubs will be open, the campfire will be in full swing and the perfect warm-up to a fantastic weekend.

Hello world! It’s CNSP here. We’ve been in hibernation for a while but we’re now beavering away at CNSP HQ getting ready for the best Summer Party yet. We’ve got dates (8 -11 August), we’ve got a theme and we’ve got more exciting happenings than you can shake a stick at!

First off, the theme is Medieval Merriment so think knights and dragons, Kings and Queens, Wenches and Peasants and anything appropriately olde worlde. It’s not just the people that will be dressing up, we’ve got big plans for the site and you’ll find a medieval flavour across the programme.

Secondly we’ve got not one, but two new pubs on site this year. Make sure you look out for Lord Hope’s Tavern and The Green Man, both will be serving a delicious range of local ales and ciders at very reasonable prices. More info to follow soon!

Finally there’s just a short wait left until you’ll be able to get your mitts on tickets. We will make a big announcement on Monday so check back for more info!

We want to say a massive THANK YOU! to all you guests, artists and crew who made CNSP 2012 such an amazing year.

The rain may have returned but we’re still glowing after all the piratey fun that was had. The stewards worked hard barrowing belongings and keeping the loos sparkling, the musicians kept us dancing and you lot, our lovely party guests kept us all smiling.

We hope you’ve gone home with great memories, new musical discoveries and new friends. Got any memories you would like to share or pictures you would like to post? Turning Sunshine to Laughter!

The campsite has been open since Thursday night and the beautiful site- draped over an Iron Age hill fort in the Monmouthshire hills- is filling up with smiling festival goers as the packed programme of music, circus, workshops, craft and games begins.

Today sees music from bands such as Flipron, Seasfire and CNSP regular Jimmy Davis getting the party started and the hotly anticipated headline set from folk heavyweight Seth Lakeman. Away from the music tents the Sports Academy is in full swing keeping old and young alike entertained with a dizzying array of fixtures running from 10am every day. Also on offer is everything from Thai massage workshops to monster mask-making sessions and even an evening pub quiz at the Stagger Inn.

Saturday is circus day with the Circomedia rig in the centre of the site. Free have-a-go trapeze sessions will run all day before the circus spectacular kicks off at 8.30pm. As the night rolls on circus turns to cabaret for a late night show compered by Brother Lee Love and the High Street House Band. More fantastic musical offerings will be rocking the two solar-powered venues with fabulous sets from the likes of Luke Concannon, Gabby Young and Other Animals and Molotov Jukebox- fronted by Harry Potter actress Natalia Tena. Don’t forget the Saturday Buccaneers and Brigands theme either and join the salty sea dogs sailing through the night.

Sunday may be pyjama dress up day but there is no time to rest with massive sets from Laid Blak, Moya Brannan (formerly Clannad) and the one and only Willy Mason bursting out of the Big Top. All through the day guests create paper lanterns ready for the evening fire-show and lantern procession- an awesome sight as hundreds of glowing creations wind their way through the Iron Age hill fort. For those with a competitive streak the legendary 5-a-side football tournament will also be running throughout the day. Open to all ages the winners take home the cup and the respect of the many spectators!

With the sun already blazing there are plenty of beautiful oddities to find through the site, including a full size pirate ship lurking outside the festival local-in-a-barn, the Stagger Inn. Also on offer is freshly baked bread, a sheep’s milk ice-cream van, cocktails mixed before your eyes and brand new music venue ‘The Verge’ replacing the ‘The People’s Front Room’

There are still some weekend and day tickets available to buy at the festival box office, located at the entrance to the site. Weekend tickets are £95 for adults and £38 for children while day tickets are only £35 for adults and £13 for children. The box office can only support cash sales so please bring cash only to pay.

Directions to the site can be found at www.cnsp.co.uk and with good transport links from Bristol, Newport, Cardiff and Swansea it’s a great way to enjoy the sunshine with a truly memorable day out.

The sun has been confirmed, the site is filling up and the musicians are getting ready to blow us all away…

Weekend tickets are £95 for adults and £38 for kids.

CNSP GEARS UP FOR SILLY OLYMPICS!

Its an Olympic year and what better way to celebrate the success of team GB than with the legendary CNSP silly Olympics! This year will see the fiercest competition yet and with events ranging from welly wanging to wheel barrowing and from three legged racing to sweet bobbing there is guaranteed to be an event for everyone.

Team GB have set the bar high after their record breaking medal tally, but team CNSP are set to raise the bar even further with more medals to be won, records to be broken and dreams to be realised than ever before!
